Activated Alumina

Activated alumina is manufactured from aluminium hydroxide by dehydroxylating
it in a way that produces a highly porous material, which can have a surface area
about 200 sq mtr/g. The compound is used as desiccant and also used as a filter
of fluoride, arsenic, selenium in drinking water. Activated alumina is used for wide
range of adsorbent and catalyst applications including the adsorption of catalyst
in polyethylene production, hydrogen peroxide and for Sulphur removal from fluid
streams.
